Senior pupils have been sent home en masse after a leaving-day prank involving worms and beetles wreaked havoc at a Perth secondary school.
Creepy crawlies were let loose in Perth High School’s canteen at lunchtime on Friday, sending younger pupils running for the doors and prompting a major clear-up.
It came as all S5 and S6 pupils at neighbouring Perth Academy were told not to come in for lessons.
It was claimed staff were worried about high-jinks on the last day before exam leave, also known as Muck Up Day.
Pupils said they had been “robbed” of the chance to spend their last school day with their friends.
The council said that there had been a series of “isolated incidents” at schools across the region, which had been dealt with by senior management.
