Traffic was ground to a virtual halt in and around Perth this morning due to an accident and a breakdown.
A one-vehicle accident at 7am on the A90 Perth to Dundee road at Kinfauns (eastbound) led to long tailbacks reaching back to the Friarton Bridge.
The road was reduced to one lane as emergency services carried out investigations at the scene following the incident.
And motorists also had to contend with a breakdown northbound on the M90 approaching the Broxden roundabout at 7.38am. This also restricted traffic to one lane, with resulting queues of traffic.
A spokesperson for Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said they had been called to a one-vehicle accident on the A90 Perth to Dundee road at 7am.
“One vehicle was involved but no one was trapped,” she said.
Motorists were also delayed by the on-going roadworks between the Inveralmond and Broxden roundabouts, which are taking place as part of the Cross Tay Link Road project for the city.
