Fire crews battled a blaze at a house in a busy Perth street on Thursday afternoon.
Smoke was billowing from the home on Crieff Road as firefighters worked to contain the blaze.
Four fire engines were sent to the scene just before 4pm and the road was closed near the junction with Feus Road.
Bus services are also being diverted.
Fire on ‘top floor of house’ on Crieff Road
It is understood the fire was extinguished by 5pm but it not yet known if anyone has been injured.
One witness said:Â “You cannot get up Crieff Road, the fire service have taped off the street.
“It looks like the top floor of a house has caught fire.
“I think the flames were put out very quickly.
“I hope everyone involved is okay.”
Another witness added: “I saw smoke come out the windows, saw the fire fighters coming out as well.
“I would say they dealt with the fire pretty quickly.”
Four appliances sent to Crieff Road fire
One resident of the street said: “I saw a lot of smoke coming from the back window and through the roof.
“When we saw the fire fighters arrive they put on breathing equipment, but it seems everyone is okay.
“It’s terrible for the people that live there but hopefully there’s not too much damage.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were called to a fire at a dwelling on Crieff Road at 3.56pm.
“Four appliances are in attendance.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police are assisting SFRS colleagues with road closures following a fire on Crieff Road, Perth.”
