Voters in Highland have elected Perth and Kinross’s youngest ever councillor.
Part-time student Xander McDade, 23, was voted in with 449 votes, while sitting councillors Ian Campbell (Cons) and Mike Williamson (SNP) were re-elected.
Mr McDade stole the limelight by taking a seat from the SNP.
He said: “I think people have just become very dissatisfied with the main political parties.
“I’m delighted to be able to give a strong, independent voice to the people of Highland.”
