A Perth city centre road was forced to close after a car burst into flames.
Emergency services were called to Atholl Street just before 1pm on Tuesday.
A crew from Perth fire station tackled the flames and officers closed the road while the incident was dealt with.
There were no reports of any injuries.
One bystander said he saw smoke coming from the engine of the car before it went on fire moments later.
Flames ‘shooting from under the bonnet’
He said: “There was a lot of smoke and then flames shooting from under the bonnet.
“Police arrived first and a couple of officers tried to tackle the fire with fire extinguishers.
“Then firefighters arrived very quickly afterwards and officers with breathing apparatus got straight to work on tackling the fire.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We received a call at 12.49pm reporting a vehicle on fire on Atholl Street in Perth.
“One appliance from Perth station was despatched to the scene.
“There fire was extinguished a short time later and there were no reports of any injuries as a result of the fire.
“Officers left the scene at 1pm.”
The road was reopened at around 1.15pm.
