Two men, aged 17 and 18, have been arrested in connection with the death of a 20-year-old man in Perth.
Officers were called to South Methven Street late on Saturday evening, and locals were told to avoid the area.
It has now been confirmed that officers were responding to reports of a man being seriously injured.
Man was pronounced dead at the scene
Paramedics attended the scene, however the 20-year-old was pronounced dead shortly after they arrived.
Two men, aged 17 and 18, have been arrested in connection with the death.
A police cordon remains in place on the street and officers were seen standing outside the property on Sunday morning.
One resident said: “At about 10.30pm on Saturday, I saw some flashing lights outside my window.
“My ledge is quite big but I saw at least two or three police cars and an ambulance.
“Police came knocking on doors at about 11pm, but they just said there had been an incident.
“We’ve not had anything like this happen before – this is a first for me anyway.”
Detective Inspector Graeme Templar said: “Around 9.40pm on Saturday, we were called to a report of a man being seriously injured in South Methven Street, Perth.
“Emergency services attended and a 20-year-old was pronounced dead a short time later.
“Two men, aged 18 and 17, have been arrested in connection with the death.
“Inquiries are ongoing.”
