Tory sources have quashed rumours that Prime Minister Theresa May was planning a trip to Perth.
The SNP’s Pete Wishart sparked speculation when he tweeted that Mrs May was due to arrive in the Fair City on Friday.
He said: “Theresa May is coming to Perth on Friday. Expect lots of meetings with members of the public and open Q&A opportunities. Pigs may also fly…”
Mr Wishart’s comments follow claims that the Prime Minister has previously refused to take questions from the press which haven’t already been pre-approved – although she did take part in a live debate on Facebook.

Campaign group Perth For Europe – fighting for the UK to remain in the EU or “the softest of Brexits” – had already expressed an interest in meeting Mrs May with placards.
But now, Scottish Conservative sources have denied that there were any plans to bring Mrs May to Perth.
The local Conservative group swelled its ranks at the recent local government elections, boosting its councillor numbers from 10 to 17.
