A Perthshire school is to reopen on Friday after it was closed following a fire.
Three fire crews were called to Balbeggie Primary School, about two miles north of Perth Airport, shortly after 7am on Wednesday.
The school was closed for the rest of the day, and crews were at the scene until around 10am.
Pupils were also made to stay home on Thursday, however Perth and Kinross Council has now confirmed the school will reopen on Friday.
A spokesperson told The Courier: “Balbeggie Primary School has been closed due to a fire on Wednesday morning within a classroom area of the school.
“A building assessment has been undertaken by Perth and Kinross Council and it has been confirmed the school will re-open tomorrow, Friday 21 April 2023.
“The affected classroom will remain out of bounds until a full refurbishment is complete.
“Temporary operational arrangements are in place to allow refurbishment works to be undertaken.”
The cause of the fire has not been confirmed.
One eyewitness said at the time: “There’s a fire engine still outside the school.
“They’ve got some windows open and it looks burnt up inside.
“There’s a burning smell in the air coming from the school.”

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We received a call about a fire at Balbeggie Primary School at 7.16pm.
“Three pumps were sent to the scene.
“The last appliance left at 9.59am”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a call around 8.20am for us to assist with traffic management for a fire on Main Street, Balbeggie.”
