A hillwalker who had been reported missing near Blair Atholl has been found after a search lasting several hours.
John Alexander Gardiner, 32, from Aberdeenshire, had been seen in the mountains to the north-east of Blair Atholl at around 7.30pm on Saturday, having climbed Carn Nan Gabhar.
Police said he had not returned as planned from a walk and extensive search activity was taking place.
Just before 9pm on Sunday, a police statement said: “We can confirm that John Gardiner, 32, who was reported missing from Blair Atholl, Perth, has been traced safe and well.
“Thank you to everyone who shared our earlier appeal.”
