Firefighters are battling a blaze involving two properties in the centre of Perth.
Emergency services rushed to a flat in South Street, in the city centre, following reports of a domestic fire at 8.46pm on Wednesday.
It emerged the fire had spread into the Holdgates fish and chicken bar below.
Four fire crew are using a single hose to fight the fire, and were still in attendance at 9.20pm.
A spokesman for Scottish Fire and Rescue said: “We are currently in attendance at a fire in a property in South Street, Perth.
“We’ve got four pumps in attendance and crew is in the property with four breathing apparatus and one main hose jet.”
Police said the fire began in a flat and went into the roof space above a chip shop.
“It was a chip shop in Perth and the road is now closed,” said a Tayside Division spokeswoman.
“We were updated at 9.20pm that officers are assisting the fire service.
“The road is closed and will remain so for the next hour.
“All persons are accounted for safe and well.
“It looks like the fire started in the flat above and went into the roof space to the shop below.”
