A Perthshire pensioner was thrown off a flight after refusing to be parted from her precious bagpipes.
Jennifer Hutcheon, 67, from Bridge of Earn clashed with Ryanair staff as she returned home from Belgium after playing at the graveside of her grandfather, 100 years to the day after his death in the First World War.
The emotional pilgrimage was ruined by her experience at Charleroi Airport when she attempted to carry her pipes on board as hand luggage.
Ejected from the flight she spent the night in the airport before paying for another flight home – ironically with the same company who allowed her this time to take the pipes on board as hand luggage.
Ryanair said she had been asked to place the pipes in the hold on the first occasion as the overhead lockers were full.
