Perth Racecourse is staging two meetings on consecutive days next week, with the venue hoping to maintain the large crowds experienced so far this year.
The double-header marks the halfway point in the racing venue’s season, which has already seen bumper crowds attend the Perth Festival, Ladies Day and the prestigious Gold Cup.
Rock at the Races will take place on Tuesday, and will be followed by a new event entitled Golf Perthshire Raceday.
Hazel Peplinksi, chief executive at Perth Racecourse, said: “The season has got off to a flying start and our numbers have remained strong since opening our gates in April, with over 6,000 in attendance at our latest family race day in July.”
Indie rock band Bwani Junction will feature at Rock of the Races, while the Golf Perthshire Raceday will see seven races take place, each sponsored by a different Perthshire golf club.
Mrs Peplinksi added: “We’re excited to debut the first ever Golf Perthshire Raceday and are delighted with the enthusiasm from the seven sponsoring golf clubs to promote their sport to a new audience here at the racecourse.”
And Alan Minto, project manager at Golf Perthshire, commented: “The Open championship has been absolutely fantastic this year and golfing fever has really swept the nation, so there is no better time to host our special golf day at Perth Racecourse.”
