Armed police were deployed at an incident in Perth on Friday following fears that a man barricaded in his house might have weapons or an explosive device.
They were called to Glenbruar Crescent in Craigie shortly after 4pm when concerns were expressed for the safety of an occupant of one of the houses.
The police were unable to gain access to the house to speak to the man and remained outside while they attempted to negotiate with him.
Due to the nature of the incident and alleged claims that the man might have been armed, a heavy police presence including armed officers was maintained.
The fire and ambulance services also attended at the scene.
The incident was resolved shortly after 11pm when police stormed the house and detained the man at the centre of the standoff.
“A man was arrested for threatening behaviour,” said a police spokesman.
No weapons or explosives were recovered.
