A lifeline autism charity, which provides vital aid to hundreds of families across Perthshire, is facing closure.
The Scottish Government has been urged to step in and rescue Perth Autism Support, which was forced to suspend its services on Friday amid a mounting money crisis.
The group, which launched five years ago, claims repeated appeals to NHS Tayside and Perth and Kinross Council for crucial core funding have so far been ignored.
The charity, which has a team of about 24, needs £120,000 of core funding – to pay for maintenance and infrastructure costs – to survive.
It has written to the families of the 650 children and young people on its books, alerting them to the crisis.
