Police officers are hunting a man who attempted to rob a 79-year-old woman of her handbag in a daylight attack in Kinross.
The victim fought off the thief and managed to retain her property but sustained minor injuries as a result of the struggle.
Police Scotland said the man, in his late teens or early 20s, pushed the woman to the ground and attempted to rob her.
He struck while she was walking at the junction of Station Road and Douglas Crescent at around 3.30pm on Saturday afternoon.
Having failed in his efforts to steal the handbag, the man fled empty handed and made off in a small white car.
He was last seen heading in the direction on the M90 motorway and investigators are now seeking public help to track him down.
Anyone who may have information about the incident or who knows the man responsible is asked to call Police Scotland on 101.
Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
