Locals in the Rannoch Road area said the man had “blood spurting from his arm” following an incident at around 2.30pm on Friday.
By early evening, police could be seen guarding the entrance to a top-floor flat.
Police Scotland refused to be drawn on the nature of the incident, confirming only that it was “ongoing”.

“Police can confirm that one persons attended hospital for treatment in relation to the incident and enquiries are currently on going.
“Officers are keen to speak to any persons who have witnessed the incident.
