A van driver had a lucky escape on Monday morning after his van caught fire on the M90 motorway.
The incident took place at 8.15am just south of Glenfarg, on the southbound carriageway.
Emergency services initially thought the OpenReach van may have contained gas canisters and, as a result, police decided to close the M90 Perth to Inverkeithing road both ways, resulting in tailbacks.
The road partially re-opened around 9.25am, with restrictions in place, and the fully re-opened at 10.50am.
Large plumes of smoke were visible after the OpenReach van caught fire. A by-stander said he saw the driver at the side of the vehicle and he appeared uninjured.
The police spokesperson confirmed no one was injured as a result of the accident.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said one unit from Auchtermuchty was sent to the scene.
