A Latvian farm worker has admitted killing a Carse of Gowrie man in a horrific car crash the first time he got behind the wheel in Scotland.
Andrejs Trofimovs was on the wrong side of the road when his powerful Audi A6 smashed into his Allan Joiner’s Ford Fiesta.
Mr Joiner, 44, suffered catastrophic head injuries and died at the scene, the Low Carse road between St Madoes and Errol.
He had been on his way to visit his eight-year-old daughter at the time.
Trofimovs, 37, of Mains of Errol Farm, had faced a charge of causing death by dangerous driving on November 22, 2014 but pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of causing death by careless driving.
Trofimovs, who was cut free from the wreckage, will be sentenced next month.
