A pensioner has died from severe injuries he suffered in a Highland Perthshire road crash more than a month ago.
The 75-year-old was one of three people who were taken to hospital following the collision on the A9, near Pitlochry on Saturday August 20.
The incident involved two cars – one towing a caravan – and happened shortly after 1pm.
It is thought that one of the vehicles may have left a lay-by moments before the crash.
The accident brought traffic travelling in both directions to a standstill for more than an hour.
A Police Scotland spokesman said on Tuesday: “We can confirm that a 75-year-old man has sadly died from injuries sustained in a road traffic collision on the A9 just south of Pitlochry on Sunday August 20.
“His next of kin have been informed and a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.”
