Hundreds of crocus bulbs were planted this weekend to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Perth’s Millenium Park.
Murdo Fraser MSP joined members of Bridgend, Gannochy and Kinnoull Community Council and The Rotary Club Perth St Johns, who donated 2,500 of the blooms in tribute to their Purple for Polio campaign.
The Millennium Park, on Muirhall Road, was officially opened to the public in 2007 by the former Provost Dr John Hulbert.
The land formerly belonged to NHS Tayside and when it was purchased by a local landowner the community council agreed with the new owner to lease it and turn it into a park.
It has been managed ever since with the help of donations and local volunteers.
