The body of a woman found after a submerged car was discovered in the river Tay has been formally named by police.
Wilma Carlin’s disappearance sparked a massive land and air search in the Aberfeldy area last week.
The Kenmore woman was last seen on CCTV in Aberfeldy on Tuesday morning.
The hunt came to a tragic end after her silver Citroen car was spotted almost completely submerged at the side of the A827 road between Aberfeldy and Kenmore.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Tayside Division can confirm that the body of woman who was found near Aberfeldy on Thursday October 12 has now been formally identified.
“She has been named as 60- year-old Wilma Carlin.
“As with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
“Our thoughts are with her family.”
The force has yet to reveal how the car came to rest in the river.
