Retired Bake Off judge Mary Berry is preparing to lift the lid on one of Scotland’s most famous stately homes.

The presenter is going behind the scenes at Scone Palace as part of her new BBC One cooking show.

Mary Berry’s Country House Secrets, which airs at the end of the month, aims to give viewers a taste of the palace’s long, lauded heritage with specially created recipes inspired by local history.

Berry and her crew spent 10 days filming at Scone Palace, alongside owners the ninth Earl of Mansfield, the Earl and Countess of Mansfield, daughter Lady Iona Murray and son William Murray.

Lady Mansfield said: “It was such a pleasure being able to show Mary and her crew around and to share aspects of our daily lives here at the palace.

“The food we serve here, both publicly and privately, is wrapped in our history, with recipes inspired by the estate and dishes passed down through generations. It was inspiring to see Mary – who I regard as one of the country’s great TV personalities and cooks – soak up our history and use it to create her own gorgeous dishes.”
