Police are hunting thugs who attacked a man outside his Perthshire home.
The victim, who is in his 20s, was approached by two men in Church Lane, Bankfoot on Monday evening.
He was badly beaten and left with serious injuries to his face, hand and body.
The attack happened at 5.45pm.
Police Scotland said investigators were now following a positive line of inquiry, but want to trace a woman who was walking her dog nearby.
A spokesman said: “We are keen to speak to the female dog walker, who may have seen some or all of what happened.”
