A dog has been killed in a hit and run incident in Perth.
The Jack Russell, called Rex, was being walked in the North Muirton area of the city when the incident happened on Wednesday morning.
The black car struck the dog on Crammond Place, near the football pitches, shortly after 9am before driving off.
The owners were too upset to speak but they issued an online appeal to find the driver.
A post on the Missing Pets, Perth and Kinross Facebook page said: “This morning a Jack Russell was killed by a car at Crammond Place, North Muirton, Perth.
“The driver did not stop and kept driving. It’s illegal to hit a dog and not report to the police within 24 hours.
“So far no one has come forward to the police and the family are appealing for anyone who may have information on who was driving or anyone who witnessed the incident to please come forward.
“This is a much loved family pet whose family are completely distraught at what’s happened.”
A spokesman for Police Scotland said the incident had not been reported to them.
