Rising skating star Kiera Connolly got Perth’s Christmas lights celebrations off to a graceful start when she officially opened the city’s pop-up rink.
The 11-year-old Letham Primary pupil demonstrated some of the skills that have won her a place in the British Skating Team.
She will be competing in the under 12s section at the British Championships in Sheffield later this month.
Kiera, who trains with Dave Mumby of Dundee Ice Skating Club and Gemma Chaddock in Stirling, said she was honoured to have been chosen to open the rink on Horsecross Plaza.
Kiera will also be appearing alongside the current British champion, Natasha McKay in Dundee’s Christmas ice show, Pete and Tink on Ice, on December 16 at Dundee Ice Arena. More details and tickets available on the website www.dundeeiceskatingclub.com/christmas-show/
