An ice warning has been issued for roads across Tayside and Fife.
Freezing conditions of -10C are predicted to hit the most rural parts of the region overnight into Saturday morning, with snow also forecast on higher ground.
And the Met Office has issued a yellow warning of ice, warning it could form on roads, pavements and cycle paths across Tayside and Fife. Dundee and Perth are both expected to be affected.
A Met Office statement said: “Icy patches are expected to develop during the evening and overnight, most likely on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths. There is a chance that injuries could occur from slips and falls on icy surfaces.”
The warning is in place from 5pm on Friday until 10am on Saturday.
Traffic Scotland has also warned drivers of increased journey times due to “icy patches” on roads.
