A pensioner has died almost a week after being found unconscious in the centre of Perth.
The man, who has not yet been identified, was discovered on the city’s South Street at 11pm last Tuesday.
The 70-year-old was rushed to Perth Royal Infirmary for treatment but has since died.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “We can confirm that the 70 year old man who was found unconscious in South Street, Perth, late on January 23 has sadly died.
“There are no suspicious circumstances, and a report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
It’s understood that the man’s next of kin is yet to be informed of his death.
Police taped off an area outside the Tesco store after the man was found to allow investigations to take place.
The street is one of the city’s busiest thoroughfares.
