The A93 Spittal of Glenshee road is closed due to snow.
Also closed due to snow drifts – though snow ploughs are scheduled to tackle them – are the the B918 between the A977 and A91 Kinross, the C413 at Stronachie and the U142 Westown.
All other roads are described as “passable with care” though non-essential journeys are advised against.
With all schools closed and many people taking the decision not to travel in to work by car the roads were quiet and no major problems were reported.
The Ochils Mountain Rescue Team was in the thick of things overnight as part of a multi-agency response to motorists stranded in their vehicles on the M80 between Stirling and Glasgow due to the weather.
“Team members worked with colleagues in the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and other volunteer agencies to provide welfare checks and deliver food and water to stranded motorists,” said the team.
“Team members have been working through the night and thank the public for their support and good spirits.”
At the height of the incident hundreds of vehicles came to a standstill in an eight- mile tailback.
