Firefighters using a turntable ladder were in action in the centre of Perth after concerns were raised about the danger to the public from large icicles.
They attended in George Street and blocked the road off and removed the build- up of ice.
“We were called out to George Street because of the possible danger,” said crew manager Mike Gaffney of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
“If anyone lets us know of other ice building up we will come out.”
Firefighters in Dundee have been carrying out similar operations, including in the city’s Stobswell area.
