Efforts to clear roads across Perth and Kinross have been hampered by abandoned vehicles.
“Our roads crews are working hard to tackle the travel problems but they are up against it with drifting snow,” said a council spokesperson.
“Abandoned or parked vehicles at roadsides can stop ploughs getting access, so please consider where your vehicle is.”
Crews were out overnight but a number of roads remain closed.
These include Blairgowrie to Braemar (Cairnwell to Spittal of Glenshee), the B818 between A977 and A91 Kinross, U142 Westown, B9191 Mawcarse-Balgedie, B996 Kinross-Gairneybridge, B9210 Scotlandwell to C501 Righead, U243 Glenlomond (closed due to driving snow, abandoned cars and a fallen tree), B827 Langside-Comrie.
Due to the extreme weather the Tayside Contracts depot at Ruthvenfield in Perth has ordered in an addition 5,000 tonnes of salt.
Lib Dem councillor Peter Barrett who visited the depot was full of praise for the commitment and determination demonstrated by the gritter drivers and teams.
“People were volunteering to do extra shifts this weekend in order to try to get the roads network cleared for school teachers and pupil transport on Monday,” he said.
“I heard about the heroic efforts that were being made to reach people with urgent medical needs including dialysis and brittle bone syndrome.
“I want to thank everyone involved for the fantastic job they are doing.”
