Police are treating the death of a man in Alyth as “unexplained”.
“Officers were called to an address at Hazel Court in Alyth at around 10pm on Saturday March 3 where the body of a 26-year-old man was found within,” said a spokesperson for Police Scotland.
Detective Chief Inspector Graham Binnie who is leading the investigation said: “We are currently treating the death of the man as unexplained and inquiries into the circumstances surrounding his death are ongoing.

“Officers are currently at the scene and there will be a police presence in the area for some time.
“I would like to thank the local community for their patience whilst we carry out our inquiries. I would also like to reassure them that this was a contained and isolated incident.
“The family of the deceased man have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
“Details of the man will not be released until formal identification has taken place.”
Hazel Court is a street of terraced houses off Airlie Street not far from the town centre.
The investigations centre on a pend linking Hazel Court to a car park.
The area was taped of and forensic officers in white suits and masks could be seen combing the ground.
Neighbours said they had been awoken during the night by the police activity but were in the dark as to the nature of the investigations and the identity of the deceased.
