A man has been arrested in connection with a sudden death in Alyth.
John Donachy, who was 26, died after what was described as a “suspicious” incident on Saturday night.
A 35-year-old man has been arrested.
Officers rushed to an address in Hazel Court in Alyth on Saturday after reports of a disturbance where they discovered the body of local man Mr Donachy.
The area was quickly sealed off and detectives made their way to the scene of the “suspicious” death.
Nearby residents were asked to remain within their homes while investigations were carried out.
Confirming an arrest has been made, Detective Chief Inspector Andrew Patrick added: “Officers will be continuing enquiries in Alyth over the coming days, which will include undertaking searches of the local area, along with house to house and a review of CCTV. I would again like to thank the local community for their patience whilst we carry out this work.”
