A former care home worker allegedly slapped and shouted at an elderly resident, before remarking to a colleague: “Can you believe her son was complaining about the way we treat her?”
Karla Kirschlagerova faces being struck off over allegations of serious misconduct at Stormont Lodge in Blairgowrie.
The 57-year-old will go before a Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) fitness to practice panel later this month.
Ms Kirschlagerova was sacked by care home operators Balhousie after an investigation into a string of complaints.
She is accused of shouting at colleagues, in the presence of a resident: “If you are going to do it, you should do it properly. How would you feel if you were dressed like this?”
It is alleged she then pulled down the female resident’s trousers to her ankles in a public area of the care home.
In early April 2016, it is further alleged, Ms Kirschlagerova pointed a finger in another resident’s face, shouted at her “shut up” and said to a workmate: “She has been like this all day, I wish she would shut up for five minutes”.
On another occasion in July 2016, Ms Kirschlagerova is accused of pulling a resident by the arm to make her stand, shout “stand up” and “look up”.
She is said to have repeatedly pushed the resident’s head back with her hand and tapped or slapped her under her chin.
She allegedly said to two colleagues: “Can you believe her son was complaining about how we treat her? Look at her, do you blame us”.
SSSC calim Ms Kirschlagerova’s actions caused physical harm and distress to the resident.
The hearing will take place on Tuesday, April 17.
A spokeswoman for Balhousie Care Group, which runs the facility, said: “We can confirm that Ms Kirschlagerova was in our employment between 2013 and July 2016, when the incident took place.
“She was suspended immediately following the incident in question and the necessary authorities were alerted. She was then dismissed following a full investigation.”
She added : “The safety and dignity of residents is our utmost priority.”
Stormont, on the edge of Blairgowrie, offers 31 en-suire residents’ rooms and specialises in Alzheimer’s and dementia care.
