A Perth man caught a thief rummaging through his household belongings after he returned from work yesterday evening.
The sneak-in theft took place in Innerleithen Way at around 6.30pm with police now hunting the intruder.
The culprit is described as five foot ten inches tall, of average build, with short dark hair, wearing a maroon coloured rain jacket and carrying a small black bag.
A spokesperson for the Tayside division of Police Scotland said: “We are again urging householders to consider home security measures when they go out.
“If you are going out and you have a house alarm remember to set it and lock doors and windows when you leave.
