A man has been arrested in connection with an attempted robbery in a Perthshire village.
A white male concealed his face with a “covering” and entered the Stanley Store on Percy Street at around 5.10pm on June 26 in the failed robbery bid.
Staff were said to be “greatly shaken” by the incident.
The man has since been arrested, although officers are still appealing for witnesses of the incident to come forward.
After the unsuccessful robbery the white male, who is around 18-years old, was seen running towards Perth Road and then Linn Road.
He was wearing a white t-shirt, light coloured jeans and grey trainers at the time of the incident.
Detective Inspector Ray Birnie of Tayside Division CID said: “Thankfully the staff and customers, whilst understandably greatly shaken, were not physically injured during this attempted robbery.
“I can confirm that a male has been arrested in connection with this incident.
“He was carrying a carrier bag and whilst within the store he concealed his face with a covering.
“Enquiries are still ongoing into the incident and I would appeal to the public to come forward if they have information that could assist us.
“This is a contained incident with no wider threat to the general public. However, there is ongoing police activity at another address in Stanley linked to this incident. There will also be additional high visibility patrols in the area for the time being.”
