An inmate of Castle Huntly open prison who allegedly absconded is back behind bars.
Neil McInally, 33, appeared in private at Perth Sheriff Court on Friday, where he faced a charge that he attempted to defeat the ends of justice by failing to appear at the open prison on June 22.
McInally had been reported missing by the prison authorities after being on home leave from Castle Huntly open prison.
On Friday, Police Scotland confirmed that he had been traced and he later appeared in the dock at Perth Sheriff Court when he made no plea or declaration.
McInally was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
