Staff at a Perth gym have launched a new class to make fitness accessible to everyone.
The weekly inclusion for all classes at Fit4Less in Canal Street are free to anyone with a physical, mental or sensory disability and aim to break down barriers to exercising.
As well as the health benefits, the Wednesday morning classes aim to improve confidence and motor and social skills.
Activities vary each week and include circuit training, weights, spin, pilates and yoga.
Fit4Less Perth manager Tammy Fleuchar said: “The aim of the class is to break down barriers to fitness and make it accessible to all.
“The class varies week to week and while fitness is the main goal, we also recognise the importance of working on motor skills, confidence and social skills with this particular group.
The inclusion for all group is already proving popular in its first weeks. It was launched following the success of other initiatives to make exercising easier, including daily parent and child studio sessions and a senior circuit class, also held on a Wednesday morning.
Tammy added: “We are a community-focused club so our doors are open to all.
“We started with our parent and child classes to help with childcare challenges that parents face and are now continuing with the inclusion for all group and also the introduction of a senior circuit class.
“In the near future we are also looking to introduce after school children’s fitness classes as it is beneficial to keep everyone active, no matter their age.”
The inclusion for all class runs from 11.30am until 12.15pm every Wednesday.
