Stars of children’s TV were among the surprise guests at this weekend’s Blairgowrie and Rattray Highland Games.
Presenters Yasmin Evans and Ed Petrie were given a lesson in traditional Scottish sports, including caber tossing, at Sunday’s event.
The CBBC crew have been touring the country and were keen to sample a classic highland show for their upcoming programme.

The production team’s visit was particularly fitting for this year’s games, which introduced new events to mark the 2018 Year of Young People.
As well as the traditional contests, there was an inaugural race for primary school pupils from across the region.
The Rotary Club of Blairgowrie held a mini Highland Games to give little ones the chance to test their skills.
And there was a version of the show’s hill race, specifically for Blairgowrie High pupils.
Committee chairman Ally Donald said: “We feel that encouraging a younger generation to get involved with the games gives them an opportunity to explore their talents and try new skills, as well as hopefully developing an interest in keeping a traditional Scottish event going for many more years to come.”
The show at Bogle’s Field was officially opened in traditional style with a parade, followed by the raising of flags.
The ceremony was led by chieftain Laurence Blair Oliphant of Ardblair and Task.
Among the highlights in the packed programme were a dog show, track and field competitions and a tug o’ war.
Sunday’s show was brought to a close with music from the Blairgowrie and Rattray Pipe Band.
