A man has died following a car crash on a country road in Perthshire.
The tragedy happened at 3.45pm on an uncategorised road between Aucherarder and Muthill at Machany Bridge.
Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the accident to come forward.
Emergency services were on the scene of the crash for over four hours following the fatality and some still remain at the site.
The road was closed and diversions put in place at the Tullibardine junction and the junction to Strathallan just north of Drumness.
Police Scotland has advised drivers to avoid the area if possible.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police Scotland are currently dealing with a single vehicle fatal road collision that occurred on the Aucherarder to Muthill at Mechany Bridge.
“The accident occurred at 15.45pm and police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact Police Scotland on 101, incident number 2220.”
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service also sent two appliances and have now left the scene.
The identity of the man is yet to be confirmed.
