Police have confirmed that a body found near Crieff on Saturday is missing man Martyn Cruickshank.
The 42-year-old was reported missing last week and extensive searches were carried out around Crieff, Comrie and other rural areas of Perthshire.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We can confirm that the body of a man found near Crieff on Saturday, October 20, has been formally identified as missing person Martyn Cruickshank.
“Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.”
He added: “We would like to take this opportunity to again thank the members of the public who assisted in our search for Martyn, to Strathearn Community Campus for the use of their facilities, and to those who shared our appeals for information. Your help was very much appreciated by ourselves and also by Martyn’s family.”
