Andy Murray says a “tough day” was made better by a cuddle from his mum Judy.
Tributes have been paid from across the sporting world after the Dunblane tennis star announced this year’s Wimbledon will be his last ever tournament — but that he might have to retire even earlier.
Murray, who is in Australia for the first Grand Slam of the tennis year, posted: “Best way to feel better after a tough day is a big cuddle from your mum.”
Murray also thanked the thousands of fans across the world who have sent him good wishes since the news emerged.
He said: “Genuinely been very touched by all of the messages and support from everybody today… It means a lot and has made me feel much more positive than when I woke this morning?Thank you so much. ❤️”
