Police were stationed outside a Perth property for much of the day on Thursday after a man was arrested in connection with alleged online offences.
Officers stood guard outside a property in Kinloch Terrace in Letham from around 10pm on Wednesday.
A woman and child were seen leaving the address at 4am on Thursday morning, witnesses said.
Neighbours said they were confused by the continued police presence with officers refusing to say why they were there.
One local resident said: “There has been a police presence at an address in Kinloch Terrace, Letham, Perth, since about 10 o’clock yesterday night and it is still there.
“A woman and child were seen leaving the property at about 4am this morning. Police are not letting worried residents know what is going on.”
A second resident said: “There has been a police vehicle present outside the premises since at least 1am today and various police personnel have been entering and leaving the premises all day.”
A police spokesperson said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 56-year-old-man has been arrested in connection with alleged online offences and has been released pending further enquiry.
“A police presence will remain in the area while enquiries are being carried out.”
