Scottish rugby legend Doddie Weir has cancelled his appearance at Pitlochry Theatre’s Winter Words Festival tomorrow due to illness.
The 48-year-old, who was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2017, was due to talk at the festival tomorrow about his life and career.
Pitlochry Theatre have said tomorrow’s event will still go ahead at 6pm as planned with Doddie’s ghostwriter Stewart Weir – who was due to take to the stage with the rugby star.
Half of all proceeds from the talk will now go to Doddie’s MND foundation My Name’5 is Doddie, though the festival say they are contacting ticket holders and refunds are available.
Sadly, due to illness, Doddie Weir won't be at Winter Words tomorrow.
