A local resort is finally welcoming wintersports lovers.
The return of the cold conditions meant there was enough snow for Glenshee Ski Centre to open up on Wednesday morning.
The runs have been filling in with the white stuff this week, with the resort also opening on Thursday and Friday.
It comes off the back of one of the toughest ever seasons for Scotland’s mountain resorts.
Mild weather has led to limited snowsports at Glenshee, the Lecht, Nevis Range, Glencoe and Cairngorm Mountain.
As of mid-February, only 22 days of skiing had taken place at Glenshee during the 2018-19 winter; compared to some 109 days in 2017-18.
On Friday morning staff said “things are looking a lot better”, adding: “At last we have got some snow to ski on.
“There’s plenty of room and plenty of skiing to be had.”
It comes after forecasters predicted up to 8in of snow could land across Tayside and Fife on Saturday.
The Met Office has issued a “severe” yellow weather warning, with 8in of the white stuff possible in parts of the local area. It will be in place on Saturday from 4am until 9pm.
Up to 8in of snow could land on ground above 1,148ft, however the Met Office said accumulations of up to 3.9in could land at lower levels if the showers are “heavy enough to maintain snow for a longer duration”.
