A peacock has been roaming the streets of Crieff after apparently flying away from Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre because of the mating season.
The bird has been spotted in different locations in the Perthshire town over the last 48 hours, with one resident snapping a photograph of the animal using a bird feeder.
Debbie Thirsk said she believes the same peacock visited her garden last year and has nicknamed the bird ‘Dave’.
Debbie said: “The same peacock – we are all quite sure it’s the same one – escaped last year and ended up here on our little estate.
“I actually trapped him in my garden for them. Their keeper has just been out on Tuesday to set the same trap again.”
Maxine Scott, from the wildlife centre, asked people not to try to catch the bird.
She said: “Catching a peacock is nearly impossible. But we are on its tail.”
