More than £7,750 was raised at Perth Ladies Day to help a cancer charity.
The sold-out annual event at Perth Racecourse has been raising money for Breast Cancer Now for nearly a decade and this year’s event, held on Thursday, was a particularly successful day for the charity, which recently merged with Breast Cancer Care to pull together resources.
Hazel Peplinski, Perth Racecourse chief executive, said: “From start to finish the whole place was absolutely jumping and you could feel the energy all around the racecourse.
“A huge vote of thanks goes to the full team at Perth for putting on such a spectacular party and to each and every racegoer who contributed to what was a special day.
“Within this, we sincerely thank their generosity in helping Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now raise such a fantastic total which will help make a real difference to the lives of many.”
Ashleigh Simpson, policy and campaigns manager for Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now, said: “Ladies Day has been raising funds for the charity for over eight years and this year the event raised £7,755.56 to help fund our life-saving breast cancer research and specialist support services for people living with the impact of the disease.”
