MasterChef finalist Jilly McCord has cooked up a storm for her students at Dollar Academy.
Jilly reached the finals of this year’s series after impressing judges Greg Wallace and John Torode with her classical cooking skills, including a venison dish described by restaurant critic Grace Dent as the best she had ever eaten.
To celebrate her achievements Dollar Academy, where Jilly teaches, hosted free events for pupils, parents and the local community.
Jilly talked about her experiences on the show and also demonstrated some simple cooking techniques and recipes as well as answering questions from the audience.
After reaching the MasterChef final, before eventually being beaten to the title by Irini Tzortzoglou, Jilly said: “Masterchef has been exhausting and exhilarating. It’s changed me as a person.
“It’s made me realise that you can dream something and make it a reality.
“I don’t feel sad, just joy for Irini and joy for myself. It’s been such a good experience.”
