Two roads will be closed down in Perth city centre today due to a “public event” with Perth and Kinross Council satisfied it poses a danger to the public.
Mill Street/Bridge Lane from its junction with Kinnoull Street and North Port from its junction with the A989 Charlotte Street to its junction with the entrance to the Premier Inn will be shutdown to traffic and all parking and loading bays will be suspended.
2. North Port from junction w/Charlotte St to junction w/entrance to the Premier Inn. Alternative route for traffic via Atholl St, Kinnoull St, Carpenter St and Blackfriars Wynd.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

The road closures come into effect with Conservative leadership hopefuls Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt expected to arrive in the city this evening for their only Scottish hustings date.
The exact location of the the hustings has yet to be confirmed but The Courier understands it will be held at Perth Concert Hall who have an as-yet-untitled event booked for this evening with a provisional start time of 7pm.
The road closures will come into effect as soon as the signs are put in place and will last until the signs are removed.
This time period could be the majority of today.
