The girls, aged 14 and 15, were hit by a Citreon Berlingo as they walked along the roadside near the village of Rait on July 23. The friends were found about 10ft apart in a hedgerow. The driver of the van failed to stop at the scene of the collision which left one of the victims in hospital with serious injuries. A man later attended a police station in connection with incident. A week later Tayside Police said that “inquiries are continuing” into the incident but no arrests or charges have been made.
