The A9 was closed near Dunkeld following a crash involving a car and a breakdown truck.
The driver of one of the vehicles was freed after being trapped inside the car and taken to hospital.
Police have stated that the motorist did not appear to have sustained any apparent life-threatening injuries.
Traffic Scotland warned of hour-long delays due to the road closure.
A police spokesperson said: “The A9 northbound just outside Dunkeld is closed following a two vehicle collision involving a car and a breakdown truck.
“One person was trapped inside due to the mechanics of the car but it doesn’t appear that there are any obvious serious injuries at the moment.
“We were called to the scene at 2.47pm and paramedics are also in attendance.”
The road was partly reopened at 4.10pm.
